In 1964, a polytechnic college was opened in Kyzyl to train mid-level specialists. In 1975, the educational institution was renamed (KADT) and transferred to the Ministry of Highways of the RSFSR.
The technical school has been headed by A.P. since 1991. Paid additional educational services have been organized through the KADT training center, which deals with:
Training and certification in road safety and labor protection of specialists in the construction and road construction motor transport complex;
Training and retraining of drivers for the transportation of dangerous goods;
Training and advanced training of road construction personnel through Rosavtodor and the Employment Department of the Republic of Tyva.
The technical school has created the necessary conditions for organizing the educational process. There is an educational building with equipped classrooms and laboratories, four computer classes, a library with a spacious and comfortable reading room, a museum, a sports hall, a gym and assembly halls.
On the territory adjacent to the educational building there are a metalwork and mechanical workshops, a car and tractor park, and a sports town. There is also a canteen for students, a four-story dormitory with rooms for two or three people and with all household amenities.
The workforce consists of 167 people, including 44 teachers, 22 of whom have the highest qualification category.

Conversations with specialists, excursions to enterprises, meetings with graduates, decades of specialties, competitions for the best wall newspaper, for the best course project, open defense of course and diploma projects, and knowledge auctions contribute to nurturing in students love and interest in their chosen specialty.
There are seven subject-cycle commissions. Every year they hold subject weeks, including various games, competitions, Olympiads, and marathons. The winners of the technical school Olympiads take part in city, republican, district and all-Russian Olympiads.
In 2007, at the Olympiad in the specialty "Maintenance and repair of motor vehicles" (Novosibirsk), KADT students took third place, in 2008 at the All-Russian Olympiad in the specialty "Construction and operation of highways and airfields" (Kostroma) - V place.

Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tyva 02/09/2012 No. 52 “On the federal state educational institution of secondary vocational education “Kyzyl Automobile and Highway College”, the institution was renamed into the State Budgetary Educational Institution of Secondary Vocational Education of the Republic of Tatarstan “Kyzyl Transport College”.
By Decree of the Government of the Republic of Tyva dated October 25, 2013. No. 627 “On the renaming of state budgetary vocational education institutions of the Republic of Tyva”, the technical school was renamed into the State budgetary vocational educational institution of the Republic of Tyva “Kyzyl Transport College”.
In 2014, the technical school turned 50 years old.
“Kyzyl Transport College” is a State budgetary professional educational institution that implements professional educational programs of basic level secondary vocational education based on state educational standards.
The technical school has the status of a legal entity with the right to conduct educational activities in the field of secondary vocational education.
The main direction of development of the technical school since 1993 is its transformation into a multifunctional educational institution; a training center for retraining and training personnel for the national economy of the republic has been created and is operating, contractual work is underway to repair and maintain highways and perform other types of economic activities.
The technical school has formed a qualified teaching staff. Of the 47 teachers, 22 have a higher engineering education, 22 have a higher pedagogical education, and 3 have a secondary specialized education.

Prospects and personnel
In 2011, the implementation of an investment project for the construction of the Kyzyl-Kuragino railway line with a length of 420 kilometers will begin. The road, which will connect the Republic of Tyva with neighboring regions, will give a powerful impetus to the development of the region’s economy. The development of transport infrastructure is one of the top priorities facing the Republic
Tyva.
The issue of developing and increasing human resources in the region is clearly coming to the fore. The teaching staff carries out a lot of career guidance work, so the technical school recruits for all specialties that are popular among graduates not only of the Republic of Tyva, but also of the south of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and the Republic of Khakassia.
The first step in mastering new areas of vocational training has already been taken - in 2010, students were recruited for the specialty “Construction of railways, track and track management”. However, in order for a graduate to be in demand and competitive, the technical school must create the necessary material and technical base for the new specialty and update existing resources, which naturally requires significant financial costs that the technical school cannot provide on its own. The reality is that a ruble invested today in vocational education may bring ten tomorrow, but this ruble must be promptly invested in updating the fleet of road machinery and mechanisms, acquiring modern training and laboratory equipment, new geodetic instruments, and in the development of new information technologies not only railway direction, but also others. Then the graduate will receive a specialty that gives confidence in the future and stability, which is especially important given the difficult situation in the labor market.
Closer to the real deal
Interaction between employers and educational institutions of the secondary vocational education system should be built on the basis of better training in practical work skills. For example, the technical school has developed and is fully implementing an action plan for the joint activities of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Tyva, the M-54 “Yenisei” highway, “Tyvaavtodor” and the Federal State Educational Institution of Secondary Professional Education “Kyzyl ADT”. During the internship, technical school students work on real objects of the road transport complex of the republic. A mechanized detachment has been created on the basis of the technical school, which carries out year-round maintenance of the Boyarovka-Toora-Khem highway (152 km) under an agreement with Tyvaavtodor. And this is an excellent training ground for students, receiving wages and financial support for extra-budgetary activities of the technical school.
The topics of diploma projects, meeting modern requirements of science and technology, include the main issues that specialists will encounter in production. In addition, the Federal State Educational Institution of Secondary Professional Education "Kyzyl ADT" plans to return to the development of diploma projects on a real basis, when a group of students and teachers survey and design construction projects and reconstruct sections of highways. And such an agreement with the management of design organizations already exists.

Along with educational activities, entrepreneurial activities are also well organized in the technical school. The training center provides paid additional educational services for training and certification on safe working conditions for specialists in the construction, road construction, and motor transport complexes, training and retraining of drivers for the transportation of dangerous goods, and advanced training of engineering and technical workers. The educational institution works closely with the employment service of the Republic of Tyva to train unemployed citizens in various areas.
