Modern riddles for children - we learn ingenuity. The most mysterious mysteries of modern history Atlantis disappeared from view

Riddles are a great treasury of human thought, which contains folk wisdom and a thirst for knowledge. This is a very useful entertainment that develops attention, expands vocabulary and develops the ability to think outside the box. And sometimes even adults can’t solve them! Examples of such riddles can be seen under the cut.

The Riddle of Gestumblindi
One of the characters in Scandinavian mythology, Gestumblindi, asked the following riddle to the king:

Four hanging
four are coming,
two show the way,
two defend themselves from dogs,
one is hanging out
always dirty.

Answer: cow.

Bilbo's Riddle
In the movie The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Bilbo asked the following riddle:

Thirty white horses
On two red hills -
They will run away and collide
And again they will fall silent in the darkness.

Answer: teeth.

Exeter mysteries
Old English riddles are one of the minor genres of Old English poetry that are part of the Exeter Codex. One of these riddles:

I am dear to people, I meet in many places,
They bring me from the forest and from the mountain slopes,
from the valleys and from the hills.
During the day I was carried by wings through the air, delivered with care
under roof protection.
People then soaked me in a barrel.
Now I'm a binder and a flail, soon I'll quit
people on the land, every peasant...

Answer: drinking honey.
Children's riddle for Homer
According to legend, the ancient Greek poet Homer himself did not know where he was born. One day he asked the Delphic Oracle about this and received the answer:
“The island of Ios is your mother’s land, and she will receive you dead, but beware of the riddles that children tell.” Already an old man, Homer came to Ios and when he sat down on the shore, he saw the children of local fishermen returning from the sea. He asked what they caught. The children replied: “What we caught, we threw away, and what we didn’t catch, we have.”

Homer tried to solve the riddle and realized that his time was up. Still trying to find the answer, he slipped, hit his head and died.

Riddle about heaven and hell
Situation:
You are in a room with two doors: one leads to heaven, the other to hell.
In the room, besides you, there are 2 more wise men: one always tells the truth, the other always lies. You don't know which one is which.

Question:
How to get to heaven by asking just one question to one of the sages?

Answer: Which door would another sage point to if I asked him how to get to hell? In any case, the door leading to heaven will be indicated.

Einstein's riddle
This famous logic problem is said to have been created by Albert Einstein during his childhood.

There are five houses on the street.
An Englishman lives in a red house.
The Spaniard has a dog.
They drink coffee in the green house.
A Ukrainian drinks tea.
The green house is located immediately to the right of the white house.
Anyone who smokes Old Gold breeds snails.
They smoke Kools in the yellow house.
In the central house they drink milk.
The Norwegian lives in the first house.
The neighbor of the one who smokes Chesterfield keeps a fox.
In the house next door to the one where the horse is kept, they smoke Kools.
Anyone who smokes Lucky Strike drinks orange juice.
The Japanese smokes Parliament.
A Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
Who drinks water? Who's holding the zebra?

Finding a solution is easy if you outline the sign.

Samson's Riddle
Samson asked this riddle on his wedding day with Dilida.

From the eater comes something edible,
From the strong came the sweet?
Samson and the lion came together in battle, Samson perched on the lion's back. Lions, as you know, tear their prey with their claws, but Samson killed the lion with his bare hands! And a couple of days later Samson comes, and here is a swarm of bees in the lion’s corpse and honey.

Samson's riddle is twofold. One half of the answer is lion, the other half is honey.

The Mystery of Lewis Carroll
What do a raven and a desk have in common?

As you know, this riddle of the Hatter gave rise to so much controversy that Carroll himself had to explain in the preface to one of the editions of “Alice in Wonderland” that the riddle had no answer. By the way, he himself, in the end, couldn’t stand it anyhow, but he saw the connection between the crow and the desk: “With the help of both, you can give answers, albeit flat ones; they are never put on the wrong side!”

The most difficult logic problem
This riddle was proposed by the American philosopher and logician George Boulos in the Italian newspaper "la Repubblica" in 1992:

There are 3 familiar gods: A, B and C, which are the gods of truth, lies and chance in no particular order. The god of truth always tells the truth, the god of lies always deceives, the god of chance can speak both the truth and lies in any order. You need to identify the gods by asking 3 questions that can be answered “yes” or “no”. Each question is asked only to one god. The gods understand the language, but answer in their own language, in which there are 2 words “da” and “ja”, and it is unknown which word means “yes” and which “no”.

Answer:
Let's ask God B: “If I ask you: “God A is the god of chance?”, will you answer “ja”?” If god B answers "ja", then either he is a god of chance (and answers randomly), or he is not a god of chance, but in fact god A is a god of chance. In any case, God C is not a god of chance. If B answers “da”, then either he is the god of chance (and answers randomly), or B is not the god of chance, which means that god A is also not the god of chance. In any case, God A is not a god of chance.
Let us ask a god who is not a god of chance (based on the results of the previous question, either A or C): “If I ask you: “Are you the god of truth?”, will you answer “ja”?” Since he is not a god of chance, the answer "ja" indicates that he is the god of truth, and the answer "da" indicates that he is the god of lies.

Let's ask the same god: “If I ask you: “God B is the god of chance?”, will you answer “ja”?” If the answer is “ja” - god B is the god of chance, if the answer is “da”, then the god who has not yet been spoken to is the god of chance.

The remaining god is determined by elimination.

Mysteries excite the human imagination, fuel interest in the inexplicable and attract the attention of supporters of all kinds of conspiracy theories. And although antiquity is fraught with numerous secrets, we are more interested in modern mysteries - perhaps because we feel involved in these mysterious events that are connected to us through time. Let's not forget about the hope of still finding the answer, although we have a better chance of learning everything about Atlantis and ancient civilizations than getting an answer to a fairly simple question: who killed Kennedy?

Our rating includes not only unsolved mysteries that are still surrounded by an aura of mystery, but also extraordinary incidents that, even today, many years later, do not leave the pages of newspapers and arouse constant interest. It would seem that the solution has been found, the mystery has been revealed, but for some reason we do not want to believe in the proposed version (often contrary to common sense)...

On January 31, 1921, on the outer shallows of Diamond Shoals, enclosing Cape Hatteras (North Carolina) from the Atlantic, the schooner Carroll A. Deering was discovered. When the boats reached the schooner and the rescuers finally boarded, they found only two hungry cats and no signs of life - a real ghost ship like the legendary Mary Celeste, which suffered the same mysterious fate fifty years earlier. The schooner's crew seemed to evaporate. A prepared dinner was found in the galley, but no trace of the crew remained - neither personal belongings nor any items directly related to the schooner (in particular, the logbook and chronometer were never found). The compass, steering wheel and all navigation instruments in the chart room were deliberately broken.

The report of the abandoned ship gave rise to rumors of a mutiny, pirates, bloody murder and even otherworldly intervention on board (it should be noted that the Carroll A. Deering was found in the area now infamously known as the Bermuda Triangle). Probably, the incident on the Carroll A. Deering would have remained a mystery if two months later the sea had not washed up on the coast of North Carolina a bottle with a note that said: “Carroll A. Deering has been captured, the crew is trying to hide in the holds , we have no opportunity to leave the ship. Please immediately inform the authorities that “Carroll A. Deering”…” Here the text stopped.

To this day, no one knows where the crew of the schooner disappeared to. If pirates had been the reason for the disappearance of the crew, they would probably have taken the valuables and sank the ship. If we assume that the solution lies in a mutiny on board the schooner, it can be argued that the rebels who reached the shore would hardly have gone unnoticed. Another version was put forward: the schooner was captured by the Soviet fleet - this was allegedly an attempt and the Union to begin capturing American ships.

On November 21, 1971, in Portland, Oregon, a certain Dan Cooper hijacked a Boeing 727 bound for Seattle. Threatening to blow up the plane, he showed the flight attendant the bomb and passed a note to the crew. Cooper demanded $200,000 and 4 parachutes. When he received what he required, the plane took off (the passengers did not suspect anything), and a few minutes later Cooper jumped from the plane with a parachute, after which no one saw him again.

Although almost forty years have passed since then, little has become clearer in this mysterious case. Shortly after this incident, part of the money received by Cooper was found on the river bank, and not so long ago the FBI announced the discovery of Cooper's parachute, but this discovery turned out to be false. There were several suspects in this case, one of them appeared while already dead: on his deathbed, he told his wife that “he was D.B. Cooper.” It was not possible to confirm or refute this information. If Cooper died after jumping from a plane, his remains will never be found - in 1980 as a result of the eruption of Mount St. Helens, the site of his possible landing was covered in ash.

The Riemann Hypothesis is not as widely known as the other mysteries on our list, and for at least one reason: it is not popular with the media. There is no sensational headline for it. And in general, few people understand it. After all, what interesting things can be hidden in the formula “E = mc2”? The Riemann Hypothesis reads as follows: “The real part of any non-trivial zero of the Riemann zeta function is ½.”.

The surprising thing about this hypothesis is that it is not only unconditionally accepted by all mathematicians (although it has never been proven!), but is also widely used to solve other complex mathematical problems. By the way, whoever can provide proof of the Riemann hypothesis will receive a reward of a million dollars!

Who killed Chernaya orchid?

On January 15, 1947, the mutilated body of 22-year-old actress (or call girl) Elizabeth Short was found in Los Angeles. The largest murder investigation in the history of the Southern States began immediately, the circumstances of which baffle even today. The mutilated body of the “Black Orchid” (the girl was so named for her long black hair and beauty) was cut in half and dismembered (external and internal genitalia, as well as nipples were removed), blood was released from it, and her mouth was cut from ear to ear.

The list of suspects includes several dozen people, but none of them are 100% suitable for the role of a brutal killer. Detectives received more than 50 false confessions in this brutal murder, but none of them were confirmed. One of the suspects, Dr. George Hodel (now deceased, like almost all suspects), was accused of killing the "orchid" by his own son, former LAPD detective Steve Hodel. George Hodel had the surgical skills necessary to dismember the body, and after his death, his son discovered several photographs of Short. Even the famous director Orson Welles is among the suspects (though his name appeared in this story years after his death). The tragic story of the Black Orchid continues to be in the spotlight. Dozens of books are dedicated to her, and a film was even made based on her. The almost complete absence of any evidence means that the mystery of the Black Orchid murder will never be solved.

On July 30, 1975, four years had passed since Jimmy Hoffa, a former labor leader (who led the International Brotherhood of Teamsters), was released from prison. Hoffa was jailed for bribery and mob connections, but President Nixon reduced his sentence on the condition that Hoffa stay out of union affairs until his official prison term ended (that is, until 1980).

On that fateful day in late July, Hoffa, who had been trying to reassert union control despite Nixon's ban, got into his car outside the Machus Red Fox restaurant in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. Since then no one has seen him again. The public is not even interested in the mystery of his murder - most likely, the mafia was involved in it - but in the question of where his body is hidden. Over time, Jimmy Hoffa's burial site became a household name, a cultural code, a metaphor for the best secret burial place of all time, and gave rise to many rumors. One of them claims that Hoffa's body is allegedly buried under the infamous ten-yard line on the field at Giants Stadium.

There are so many unsolved mysteries and secrets in the world that it even becomes a little uneasy! Someone is constantly trying to comprehend these secrets of the higher worlds, but once again they fail. Ciphers, encoded messages, mysterious signs in the margins, cryptograms, etc. - all this intrigues not only scientists, but also ordinary people. Each of us, at least once in our lives, thinks about one of the many mysteries of our universe. Or maybe someone else has yet to solve it?

Mysteries are all around us.

How many films have been made and books written about how to solve these mysteries, but all these films are just science fiction. In fact, neither the world-famous manuscripts nor the complex messages to descendants from their ancestors have ever been fully unraveled.

The Voynich Mystery

It was never possible to unravel the unknown language in which the manuscript was written. In 1912, Wilfrid Voynich, an antiquarian book dealer, acquired a very strange book. All of its 240 pages contained completely new letters and numbers (if they were these characters at all). In addition to words in an incomprehensible language, the book also contained diagrams and illustrations that demonstrated incomprehensible events and also depicted unimaginable plants. Mystery? And what a one! It was not possible to determine who the author of the manuscript was. But scientists were able to determine the time period in which the book was created - 1404–1438.

The Voynich Mystery Manuscript

No one has tried to decipher the handwritten manuscript, but all in vain. But it doesn’t look like the author of the text simply decided to make fun of his descendants and drew scribbles to mislead everyone. Today there are a large number of theories in which the great scientists of the world are trying to uncover the secret of the book. Some think that this is a manual on alchemy, others - a pharmacopoeia, and still others generally see the intervention of other worlds in the creation of the manuscript and assign the book the status of an extraterrestrial manuscript. But whoever the author of the manuscript was, he definitely did not spare his personal time, effort and money to create it!

Secrets of the higher worlds! Difficult to understand, encrypted and not completely solved, the riddle on the sculpture located near the CIA in the USA is the sensational Kryptos! The sculpture was created by master Sanborn, and the four encryptions on its surface have never been fully solved (despite this “neighborhood” with the CIA). Scientists managed to solve the first three riddles, but they are still struggling with the last one (despite the artist’s hints that the answer to it is encrypted in the first cipher). In 2010, the most persistent researchers were still able to unravel one word in the code - Berlin, but what other words are nearby is still unknown.

Finding Bale's Treasure

Thomas Bale at the beginning of the 19th century was able to extract treasure during the development of gold deposits in Colorado. It is unknown what motivated this man, but he decided to encrypt the location of real wealth from a large amount of precious metals and stones. For this he used a set consisting of three encryptions. Of these, only the second was decoded, and the key to it was the Declaration of American Independence. This code indicated the area where the treasure is located, but the exact location of the cache is still unknown. Many seekers of adventures and mysterious treasures still hunt for untold wealth to this day.

How to find the Holy Grail?

In the UK there is the famous Shepherd Monument, created in the 18th century in Staffordshire. Many people think that this is a message from the ancients to our contemporaries regarding the place where the Holy Grail is kept. The letters of the code have a certain sequence, but no one can decipher it. The author of the code is unknown, and this is another mystery of the surrounding world. Scientists suggest that in this way the Templars encrypted the secret of finding the Grail. Many celebrities tried to decode this code, including Charles Dickens and Darwin.

Writing system or Rongorongo

Mysterious signs depicted on artifacts and called Rongorongo were found on Easter Island. Scientists believe that these may be writing systems invented by different branches of humanity. It has not yet been possible to decipher the secrets of the ancient words, but there is an opinion that the encryption contains some information about the civilization that built the statues on this island.

Message from Space

In 1977, as part of a program to search for signals from extraterrestrial intelligence, Jerry Eman recorded an incomprehensible signal, and it actually did not come from Earth. Human communication with an extraterrestrial civilization lasted only 72 seconds, which was supposedly located in the constellation Sagittarius, which is 120 light years away from our planet. On his transcript, the young man wrote the word “Wow” as an expression of delight at communicating with aliens. Perhaps the younger generation uses this word for a reason, but at the suggestion of other worlds!

Secrets of the Phaistos Disc

This is the most difficult riddle that Indiana Jones himself would be unable to solve if he existed in reality, and not just on the TV screen. The disk was found at the beginning of the last century by an archaeologist from Italy named Luigi Pernier. There are some strange symbols on this disc. Their similarity with the hieroglyphs of ancient Chinese written languages is visible. It is believed that the secrets of the ancient world are contained in this message, because it is at least three thousand years old, made in the second millennium BC. The Phaistos Disc is the most important of all archaeological mysteries.

Mysterious underwater world

The secrets of the underwater world are of interest to scientists and ordinary people on all continents. Learning about ancient civilizations that lived before the Flood, revealing the secrets of Atlantis that sank under the water and solving other most difficult problems associated with Hydrocosmos is important for understanding our history. And if earlier they devoted a lot of time to studying the underwater world, now they have switched more to space exploration. But there are also many secrets in the depths that have not yet been comprehended!

Who are NZOs?

Unknown noises are recorded using modern acoustic devices (hydrophones). For the first time, they were used by American military services to track the movement of enemy submarines - the USSR. With the help of the devices it was possible to listen not only to the songs of whales, but also to something more interesting. The secrets of the underwater world were not completely revealed to scientists, but they concluded that in the ocean someone was sending targeted, conscious signals. received the name NZO - unidentified sound object. And who issues these signals has not been established to this day. Maybe these are messengers from the ancient world, aliens, sea monsters or someone else?

"Quakers" of the World Ocean

Great scientists tried to answer the question of who makes the interesting “kwa-kwa” sounds underwater. Maybe it's a huge sea frog? Doubtful! It all started with the interest of sailors who served on submarines in this phenomenon. Using hydroacoustic devices, they picked up strange signals and called them Quakers. This name is even mentioned in the official documentation.

The sound came from objects circling around the boats. This is exactly what was established thanks to direction finding. The strange creatures, which could not be detected, seemed to be trying to establish contact with the submarines, because they willingly responded to the signals of the submarine itself. And there was no aggression from the Quakers. The submarine was accompanied by the creatures to a specific area and then they left it, saying their usual “kwa-kwa” in parting. What it was is still a mystery. So far, scientists have stopped working on it (or are doing it unnoticed by large masses of people, so as not to spread panic), but the sounds have not disappeared and still bring fear to sailors.

This anomalous zone does not reveal one iota of the secrets of the underwater world, but only confuses researchers even more. Complex calculations, great research - but the mystery is still not solved. Since 1492, this place has been considered at least strange and frightening. The glow of water and sky, tongues of flame, frantic compass needle - all this is noted in the notes of Columbus’s own expedition. In 1840, the place located near Bermuda was given the informal name of the triangle. In this area, a self-moving ship was then found, which was completely without a crew. Where the crew and thousands of other people who disappeared in this area after the strange discovery went is unknown to modern science.

Not only ships, but also aircraft have disappeared and are disappearing in this place. Moreover, it has never been possible to find any debris or remains. But scientists studying the seabed in the Bermuda region came across a huge pyramid, several times larger than the famous pyramid of Cheops. The walls of this structure are absolutely smooth - there are no plaques, shells or algae on them, and they are made of a material that resembles glass ceramics. The secrets of the underwater world, even with this discovery, were not fully explored. The ocean is still a mystery to us today, one that interested ancient scientists and our contemporaries. Many studies of great scientists are classified. But sooner or later everything secret becomes clear, so let's wait!

Atlantis has disappeared from view

The world only learned thousands of years later that there was another continent. And searching and researching it will take the same amount of time. The secrets of the underwater world are revealed only to those who are persistent! Among representatives of the ancient world, Aristotle mentioned Atlantis. But words are words, but evidence of the existence of the continent in the form of the remains of civilization has not yet been found. They say that not all of the Atlanteans perished and founded their city in Tibet. And Mount Kailash is nothing more than one of the pyramids built by these giants. But where they lived before and what actually happened to their homeland is known only from myths. But to believe them or not is up to you to decide!

The secrets of the ancient world, the depths of the sea, one generation to another - this has always aroused and continues to arouse interest among people. Great scientists have not yet been able to solve many mysteries. Maybe you will be the one to do this, write in the comments!

1. The Philadelphia Experiment

According to rumors, in 1943 the US military department allegedly tried to create a ship invisible to enemy radars. For this purpose, special electromagnetic generators were installed on the destroyer Elridge. The idea behind the experiment was that the very strong electromagnetic field around the ship would act as a shield for radar beams. During the test, to the amazement of the military, the ship not only disappeared from radar, but simply literally disappeared from sight.

Later he allegedly discovered rematerialized in the Norfolk (Virginia) area. The crew of the ship, according to various sources, either disappeared, or went crazy, or was brainwashed immediately after the experiment.

According to some eyewitnesses, members of the Elridge crew either disappeared, or passed through walls, or even spontaneously ignited, so much so that they could not be extinguished. There are many versions regarding the reasons for the disappearance of "Elridge": from the discovery of teleportation to the theory of time travel. The leadership of the US Navy at one time completely denied the conduct of such an experiment.

No written evidence was preserved: the documents were destroyed, the ship's log was “lost” in the archives, and the destroyer was sold to Greece. There are, however, some witnesses to the experiment, but their words also cannot serve as evidence. Skeptics believe that during the experiment, the destroyer simply sailed from Philadelphia to Norfolk along some hidden water channel, the existence of which made it possible to reduce the two-day journey to 6 hours. This. And also the difference in time, they explain the supposedly “instant” appearance of the ship in a water port after disappearing in another. Conspiracy theory fans continue to search for written evidence of the Philadelphia experiment.

2. Roswell Incident

In July 1947, an American farmer discovered the wreckage of a strange aircraft near the town of Roswell and, as many are sure, the bodies of strange people. The appearance of the debris suggested an alien spaceship or a failed top-secret military experiment. However, the FBI “froze” debate on this topic for 60 years: plainclothes officers who arrived at the site of the discovery immediately mothballed the wreckage of the aircraft and took it away for further research in a closed hangar.

A few years later, the US government announced that the wreckage was allegedly belonged Soviet spy balloon. However, supporters of the theory of alien intelligence, of course, did not believe a penny. While the government was wondering what the wreckage of what had fallen on their heads in 1947, word quickly spread the news throughout the country. Since then, the words “Roswell” and “UFO” are practically synonymous. The city earns fabulous profits from tourists who want to get a glimpse of the “flying saucer” landing site.

3. Zombies Among Us

We are used to thinking of zombies as part of film folklore. The living dead, resurrected by sorcerers, no longer frighten even avid fans of the horror genre. But are there real zombies? Ethnobotanist Wade Davis, in his book “The Snake and the Rainbow,” dedicated to zombification and voodoo rituals in Haiti, talks about a strange man named Clervius Narcissus. In 1962, he died in a local hospital three days after being admitted with flu-like symptoms. Eighteen years later, he allegedly returned from the world of the dead and, as proof, told his sister the family nickname that she had once awarded him. According to the "resurrected", his body was stuffed with drugs, then he was turned into a zombie and forced to work on a sugar plantation along with other zombies. After the death of his owner, Narcissus managed to escape, and for 16 long years he wandered around the country until he came across his own sister in the market and recognized her. Skeptics believe that Clervius Narcissus did not die at all, but fell into a stupor, which local illiterate doctors mistook for death.

4. Wow signal

The SETI project was engaged in the search for extraterrestrial civilizations, based on the assumption that if developed civilizations exist somewhere, they must have created systems of radio signals, the same as on Earth. The search for brothers in mind was expressed in listening to millions of radio channels in attempts to catch some kind of intelligent code. On August 15, 1977, something happened that all project participants had been waiting for so long - at the university Ohio The radio telescope recorded a signal that lasted exactly 37 seconds. Astronomer Jerry Eyman, who accepted the code 6EQUJ5, delightedly circled it in red marker in the diagram and scribbled in the margin with the same marker: WOW! - "Cool!". However, the scientist’s enthusiasm was premature. No one has been able to prove whether the received signal was really the code of brothers in mind, or whether it appeared on the air as a result of some human activity. Attempts to re-index the signal failed.

5. Circles in wheat fields

The phenomenon of circles in wheat fields has been around for almost 30 years. Mysterious circles and signs formed by neatly crushed ears of wheat are clearly visible from a helicopter and even from space. Interestingly, about 90% of all circles are located in England. There are many theories about the origin of these circles. The most popular of them is the intervention of unearthly civilizations, traces from alien spacecraft, and even secret signs that our brothers in mind give us. Scientists are inclined to meteorological explanations for the phenomenon: the circles seem to them to be the results of sudden tornadoes or destruction of the ozone layer. Skeptics are sure that all the circles are the result of someone’s unsuccessful “long-lasting” joke.

6. Bigfoot

Until now, in many corners of the globe, scientists, tourists, and hunters find “evidence” of the existence of the so-called Bigfoot - a huge humanoid creature with long white hair covering his entire body. Traces of huge feet were seen in Alaska, and on Elbrus, and in Peru. Many are inclined to consider Bigfoot one of the intermediate links in evolution, proof that man descended from apes. Others consider him a mystical creature. Skeptics, as always, grin and advise everyone to be more realistic: traces can be someone's joke, photographs can be fake, video evidence can be fake.

Many children, and adults too, love to solve riddles. They stimulate the brain, develop imagination and force you to think outside the box.

Often, when listening or reading modern riddles for children, you need to be extremely careful - the answer or clue may be hidden in the text itself.

When you get together with your family, you can have fun while solving riddles.

This type of riddles includes small riddles-situations for quick wits and ingenuity. Such riddles lift the mood and, as psychologists note, help to establish the process of communication between children and adults. After all, a child is much more interested in communicating with peers and looking for answers to puzzles than just reading books.

Funny riddles will cheer you up and will be a great pastime for children of primary school age.

The winner is the one who can quickly guess how to find a way out under the given conditions.

Also, someone who has a very well developed memory can win.

After all, they often don’t come up with new riddles, but look for ready-made versions on the Internet or books, where the same riddles roam. For example, a popular puzzle is about a boat.

Condition

Two people gathered on the river bank. They both urgently need to cross to the opposite shore. A boat is tied near the pier. This boat can only support 1 person. As a result of all the manipulations, both people crossed to the shore they needed.

Question: How did they do it?

The answer is simple: both people were on opposite banks and took turns crossing in a single-seater boat.

Examples There are many puzzles to challenge your ingenuity:

  1. How can a person stay awake for 8 days?
    Answer: sleep at night.
  2. Which elephant doesn't have a nose?
    Answer: at the chess one.
  3. Which path cannot be taken either on foot or by vehicle?
    Answer: milky.
  4. There were three houses nearby. One belonged to a rich man, the second to a poor man, and the third was a hostel. Both houses caught fire, and then the flames spread to the dormitory. Which building will the police put out the fire first?
Answer: none, because Firefighters extinguish the fire.
  5. How to fit the word “swallow” into 4 cells? Moreover, each letter must be in a separate cell.
Answer: in 3 cells write the letters “l”, “a”, “c”, and in the 4th - put a dot.
  6. Which river fits in your mouth?
    Answer: Gum.
  7. What is not eaten raw, but is thrown away when cooked?
    Answer: Bay leaf.
  8. What 2 notes do you need to take to get an edible product?
    Answer: beans.

As a rule, riddles for ingenuity are short, so you need to listen to them carefully.

Riddles for children 10 years old

Modern riddles for children should have a fascinating and interesting plot, and be moderately complex so that the child cannot immediately find the correct answer.

Children are curious, so riddles and tasks for intelligence will always give them pleasure.

If, in the process of searching for the right solution, a certain deadlock situation has arisen, you should not immediately accept the child’s defeat, even if he himself insists on it. We must try to help him, give him an example of the sequence of the thought process and logical analysis, which will lead to the correct answer.

Riddles for children help develop intelligence, as well as apply the knowledge already acquired in practice. To encourage your child to guess, you can come up with some small prize for a certain number of riddles solved. Or you can stimulate it by arranging a competition with your dad or mom, grandparents. For children aged 9-10 years, riddles are most often offered in poetic form.

Examples

It has no legs and no wings,
He's flying fast, we can't catch him.
(Time)

There are four legs under the roof,
Above the roof there is a tureen and spoons.
(Table)

A warm wave splashes
There is whiteness under the wave.
Guess, remember,
What kind of sea is there in the room?
(Bath)

Teachers note the significant benefits of poetic forms of riddles: they develop a sense of rhythm, aesthetic perception and associative thinking.

Riddles with a trick

This type of riddles includes tasks on attentiveness, simplicity of answer, listening skills and logical thinking, i.e. riddles with a trick.

For example, an adult, answering the question, “What is the tongue in the mouth for?” will begin to list all the functions that the language performs.

If you write this question on a card and hand it to an adult, then he will easily, by writing the word, understand that in this case it is necessary to name not the functional responsibilities of the language, but to specify its location. Therefore, to the question “why is there a tongue in the mouth?” You can answer very clearly - behind the scenes.
