Verbal Intelligence Test by G. Eysenck (IQ Test). Test "Research of temperament properties"

Currently, during the competitive selection of humanities employees (management, assistant-translator, lawyer, international relationships) often use Hans Eysenck’s technique, which allows, based on verbal material, to determine the level of mental development of any person and express it in points.

This test designed to solve a maximum number of problems in a limited period of time. There are 44 problems in total, and the time allotted for solving them is 30 minutes. In such a short period of time, rarely can anyone cope with half of the tasks. You need to solve those that are easy, but also not give up the more difficult ones right away. The tasks are specially given as if “with reserve”. A normal result on the border with a reduced norm is 4 - 8 correctly solved tasks, 9 - 12 solved tasks indicate an excellent norm, and a result of 13 - 18 indicates high intelligence.

All tasks consist of four subtests. Each contains similar tasks.

Subtest No. 1. Insert a word in brackets that means the same as the words outside the brackets.

Example. Spring (...) master key. The correct answer is the key. This word needs to be written in brackets.

1. Fabric (...) state of matter.

3. Part of clothing (...) lifting mechanism.

4. Animal (...) tenderness.

5. Preposition (...) bridle strap.

6. Animal (...) monk.

7. Battle (...) swearing.

Subtest No. 4. Find the common ending for a number of words. The number of dots indicates the number of letters in the endings.

Example, dr..., m..., tr..., c..., sch...

Correct answer: for this series of words the common ending is - spruce. That is, the series should look like this: drill, shoal, trill, target, slot.

1. in.., g.., d.., k.., p.., st.., ug.. .

2. at.. , br.. , gn.. , d.. , k.. , l.. , s.. .

10. b... , g... , m... , r... , s... .

When summing up, in addition to the criteria given at the beginning of the test, you can also use the graph (Fig. 1).

The number of correctly solved problems is displayed horizontally. Then a vertical line is drawn until it intersects with the diagonal. A horizontal line is drawn to the left from the intersection point. The point on the vertical axis will correspond to the IQ.

Let us turn to the above table by D. Wexler. An IQ in the range of 90-109 means normal, 110-119 means excellent, 120-129 means high intelligence, and over 130 means very high intelligence.

Fig.1. Graph for assessing the G. Eysenck verbal test

Target: explore intellectual abilities.

Instructions: You have exactly 30 minutes to complete this test.

Notes: The number of dots inside the brackets in some questions indicates the number of letters in the missing word. For example, (....) means that the missing word consists of four letters. To solve some tasks you will need to use a sequence of letters of the Russian alphabet without the letter “ё”.

TEST TASKS FOR THE TOPIC “Emotional-volitional properties of personality”

Methodology “Diagnostics of the level of emotional burnout” (V. Boyko)

Target: determine the degree of formation psychological protection in the form of emotional burnout.

Instructions. Read the statements and answer “yes” or “no”. When it comes to partners, these are the people with whom you work every day (patients, clients, consumers, clients, students, and others).

Processing the results: each answer option is pre-scored with a certain number of points - indicated in the “key” next to the number of the judgment in parentheses. The maximum score - 10 points - was given to the sign that was most indicative of the symptom. In accordance with the “key” the following calculations are carried out:

1) the sum of points is determined separately for each of the 12 symptoms of “burnout”,

2) the sum of symptom indicators is calculated for each of the 3 phases of “burnout” formation,

3) the final indicator of the “burnout” syndrome is found - the sum of the indicators of all 12 symptoms.

Key

Interpretation of results.

1. Definition a separate symptom of “burnout”. The severity of each symptom ranges from 0 to 30 points: 9 or less points- undeveloped symptom, 10-15 points- developing symptom, 16 or more- established. Symptoms with indicators 20 or more points belong to the dominant ones in the phase or throughout the “emotional burnout” syndrome.

2. Definition leading symptom of burnout. It is essential to note which phase of stress formation the dominant symptoms belong to and in which phase there are the greatest number of them.

3. Understanding indicators of stress development phases- "tension", "resistance" and "exhaustion". In each of them, a score can range from 0 to 120 points. Based on quantitative indicators, one can only judge which phase has formed to a greater or lesser extent: 36 or less points- the phase has not formed; 37-60 points- phase in the formation stage; 61 or more points- formed phase.

Processing and interpretation of results. Calculate the sum of points for all answers in accordance with the key.

When interpreting indicators, the following scales can be used:

Up to 30 points - low or no anxiety;

31-44 points - moderate anxiety;

45 or more - high anxiety.

Impulsivity Test

Instructions. The test contains 20 questions. A scale of answers is given for each of the questions. Read each question carefully and circle the number of the answer you choose. There are no “bad” or “good” answers in the test. Try to feel free and answer sincerely. Preferably the answer that first came to your mind.

Processing the results: In the process of processing the results, the value of the impulsivity indicator is calculated " Pi". It represents the sum of points scored on the scales of the entire test questionnaire.

This test questionnaire has a four-point response scale:

For questions 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16, the scale number corresponds to the number of points, that is, 1, 2, 3 or 4.

For questions 4, 6, 7, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, points are calculated on the scale in reverse order, that is, scale 1 corresponds to point 4; scale 2 – 3, scale 3 – 2 and scale 1 is equal to 4 points.

Thus, the level of impulsivity may vary among different people from 20 to 80 points.

Analysis of results: Impulsiveness is a trait opposite to the strong-willed qualities of determination and perseverance. The greater the value of the impulsivity indicator " Pi", the more impulsive.

The level of impulsivity can be characterized as high, medium and low.

If the value " Pi"is in the range of 66-80, then impulsiveness high level, that is, strongly expressed; if its value is from 35 to 65, then its level average, impulsiveness is moderate, and if 34 or less - then impulsiveness low level. High level Impulsivity characterizes a person with insufficient self-control in communication and activity. Impulsive people often have uncertain life plans, they do not have stable interests, they are carried away by one thing or another.

People with a low level of impulsiveness, on the contrary, are goal-oriented, have clear value orientations, show persistence in achieving their goals, and strive to complete the work they start.

If impulsivity is high, then a self-education program should be drawn up aimed at reducing it and increasing focus. In this case, it is worth taking into account the features of the locus of subjective control.

Task 4.

1. Since all the parts were 0.5 meters long, 4 parts of each could be cut from two-meter round timber. Therefore, for Volodya and Misha, the number of sawed parts must be a multiple of 4. Only the number of parts sawed by Medvedev and Evdokimov is a multiple of 4 - 28. Therefore, Medvedev is Volodya’s last name, Evdokimov is Misha’s last name.

2. Since one and a half meter round timber can be cut into 3 pieces of half a meter length, it means that for Petya and Kostya, the number of sawn segments must be a multiple of 3. The number 27 is a multiple of 3 - the number of segments sawn by Galkin and Pastukhov. This means that Galkin is Petya, and Pastukhov is Kostya.

3. There is only one team left: Vasya Lavrov, Fedya Kotov. Let's check: Vasya and Fedya could only cut an even number of parts, and the number 26 is even.

Finally we get:

Self-test

Intelligence test (Eysenck)

Target. The technique is intended to assess intellectual abilities and determine the extent to which the subject has non-standard thinking. For the study of people from 18 to 50 years old with at least secondary education.

Materials. Test form.

Instructions. “Your attention is offered to a number of tasks that you have to solve. Time is limited. You are given exactly 30 minutes to complete all tasks, so do not stay too long on one task. Perhaps you are on the wrong path and it is better to move on to the next task. But don't give up too easily: most tasks can be solved if you show a little persistence. Continue to think about the task or give up trying and move on to the next one - common sense will tell you. Keep in mind that towards the end of the series, the tasks generally become more difficult. Any person is able to solve part of the proposed tasks, but no one is able to cope with all the tasks in half an hour. The answer to the task consists of one number, letter or word. Sometimes you have to choose from several possibilities, sometimes you have to come up with the answer yourself. Write your answer in the space indicated. If you are unable to solve a problem, you should not write the answer at random. If you have an idea, but you are not sure about it, then write down the answer anyway. The test does not contain “tricky” tasks, but you always have to consider several solutions. Before you start making a decision, make sure you understand exactly what is required of you. Evaluation of results.

Plot the number of correctly solved problems on the horizontal line of the corresponding graph. Then draw a vertical line until it intersects with the diagonal line. From the intersection point, draw a horizontal line to the left. The point on the vertical axis corresponds to your 1p. The most reliable and reliable results indicating your abilities are obtained in the range from 100 to 130 points; outside these limits, the assessment of results is not reliable enough.

Data processing and interpretation of results

The test results are checked against the key. Then the number of correct answers for each test and their total sum in the first and second parts of the method are calculated. The sums of points of both parts are also added up, the resulting result is a raw score, which is converted into a standard score of 1p using a table of age norms. It is believed that the average norm ranges from 90 to 110 points. Indicators above this level may indicate giftedness of the subject, below it - a lag in mental development.
