For which they give extra points. How to get extra points for the exam. What are the benefits of a gold medal?

For many applicants, individual achievements upon entering a university become a chance for free education. Today we will analyze the basic rules according to which higher education institutions admit freshmen. So, let's look at this issue in more detail.

How to prove your achievements

There is a certain accounting procedure individual achievements applicants, according to which all universities and institutes in our country operate. Applicants can count on additional points if they provide documentary evidence in the form of diplomas, references, and certificates.

The admission rules assume that, if other criteria are equal, additional points are awarded to those applicants who have their own achievements. They are summed up with the achievements that were demonstrated by high school students at the unified state exam.

Admission to Bachelor's Degree

Individual achievements when entering a university for undergraduate programs are taken into account in the following areas:

  • status of prize-winner or champion of the world, Europe in sports disciplines, certificate of passing the GTO standards, certificates of the established form;
  • certificate of completion of secondary general education with honors (gold or silver medal);
  • diploma of professional education with honors;
  • volunteer (volunteer) activities;
  • diploma of the absolute winner of certain olympiads, creative competitions, conferences, sporting events that are held;
  • grade for the final essay, which is a condition for the graduate’s admission to take the Unified State Exam under the general secondary education program.

Additional points for individual achievements when enrolling in undergraduate programs cannot exceed a total of 10. Domestic academies and universities can independently change individual achievements when entering a university, taking into account the specifics of the educational process.

Olympiads and intellectual competitions

Depending on the field of study, universities and institutes, at their discretion, count individual achievements when entering a university. For example, when applying to ITMO University in St. Petersburg, applicants are counted for the following achievements:

  • points for sporting achievements are awarded for having a gold GTO badge;
    a special certificate (with honors) of completion of secondary general education;
  • for the status of champion or prize-winner of various sports games, European champion, world championship;
  • for maintaining a systematic one (subject to the provision of a volunteer book of the established form);
  • for receiving a “pass” on the final school essay in the 11th grade of a comprehensive school;
  • for diplomas of All-Russian subject Olympiads, certificates of merit and diplomas of the All-Russian level;
  • for a diploma as a prize-winner or winner of project sessions held educational center"Sirius";

  • for a diploma of the winner or prize-winner of a multidisciplinary Olympiad at ITMO University in mathematics, social studies, Russian or foreign languages, physics, chemistry;
  • for a diploma of the winner or prize-winner of the international conference “World of Science. Nanotechnology";
  • for winning the school section of the Congress of Young Scientists, held by ITMO University;
  • for a diploma of a prize-winner or winner of the competition "ITMOgrad", "Golden Thousand of the World";
  • for providing a portfolio of achievements;
  • for a prize-winner or winner certificate International competition Marketing “BigGame by Marketoruim. Junior section."

Taking into account individual achievements when entering universities is regulated by the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation of 2014. According to the numerous changes that were issued in April 2015 by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, any higher educational institution has the legal right to change the procedure for recording the personal achievements of applicants.

Informing about taking into account additional achievements of applicants

The admission rules oblige each secondary and higher education institution to inform applicants in advance about the number of points they can receive for personal achievements. Such information allows high school students to calculate in advance their chances of being accepted into a university (academy) in their chosen field of study.

Number of points awarded

We looked at what individual achievements are taken into account in universities when applicants submit documents for admission. Now let's look at the maximum number of points that applicants can count on.

According to the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the total number of points for individual achievements should not exceed ten points. In addition, up to 10 points can be obtained for high-quality completion of the final essay in the eleventh grade. Documents confirming individual achievements must be submitted along with the package of documents. Representatives of the admissions committee carefully study all the diplomas and certificates that the applicant brings, sum up the points, and enter them into the final protocol.

Documents for confirmation

This year's graduates educational institutions there was an opportunity to add at least ten points to the results demonstrated in the final exams. This significantly increased the children’s chances of getting into the higher educational institutions of their choice. Many of them tried to grab every opportunity to make their dream come true.

Compared to last year, the number of points for creative, intellectual and sports individual achievements was reduced from 20 to 10. This step was motivated by representatives of the Ministry of Education by the fact that in order to receive additional points, high school students spend too much of their free time, completely forgetting about full preparation for unified state exam.

Ways to get additional bonuses

Students in grades 10-11 try to use every possible chance to enter the university or academy of their choice after graduating from school. For example, you can take part in one of the subject Olympiads, the list of which is approved annually by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. For children studying in the eleventh grade, participation in intellectual and creative competitions, sports competitions, and physical education events will be useful and interesting. In this case, only those victories of the graduate that were achieved in 11th grade are taken into account. If a teenager has successfully participated in several subject Olympiads at once, the one that is the most “significant” in terms of level is selected to award additional points.

In order for an applicant to have an equal number of points to rise in the ranking list, a gold or silver medal will help him. For example, for those guys who have chosen sports educational institutions for their subsequent education, having a gold GTO badge will be a great bonus.

Often these few points, which can be earned while still at school, will be a “lifesaver” for enrollment in a prestigious university on a budget basis. Universities and academies accept independent decision about for what achievements and in what quantity to add additional points to applicants.

Useful facts

For example, MIPT included in the list documents confirming the applicant’s graduation art school or music school. Depending on the university, you can expect to receive a different number of points for the same achievements. The reason for such discrepancies is in the exclusive right that the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation vested in domestic universities and academies by order. Universities are not required to add any additional points for the individual achievements of their potential students.

When selecting an educational institution, the applicant must carefully study the information presented at the university stand. This will allow him to score the maximum number of points to increase his chances of success. It is important to collect the maximum amount of “evidence” of your creative and intellectual activity during the 11th grade.

Conclusion

For the final essay you can get 10 points, winners of the All-Russian Olympiads get 5 points, medalists can count on 3 points, athletes get 5 points for having a gold badge.

At Moscow State University. M.V. Lomonosov there are no clear criteria for personal achievements; this is determined individually. Successful writing of the final essay is worth 3 points; for a gold medal, the applicant gets 5 points; sports success will bring 2 points. At MGIMO, 10 points are awarded for the Olympiads and a gold medal; the gold TRP badge brings 4. In every prestigious domestic educational institution senior management has developed its own rules for awarding points to students, which will help them successfully pass all entrance tests and enroll in the chosen educational institution.

Now schoolchildren can be nominated for the medal “For Special Achievements in Education.” This is an analogue of the gold and silver medals for schoolchildren, which replaced them in 2014.

2. How to get a medal?

A graduate of the 11th grade can receive a medal “For special achievements in learning” if he has one of the achievements:

  • he will become the winner or prize-winner of the All-Russian Olympiad for schoolchildren;
  • he will score the maximum number of points on the Unified State Exam (USE) in one academic subject;
  • in all academic subjects he will have final grades “excellent” and when passing the Unified State Exam he will score a total of at least 220 points in three academic subjects.

A disabled child completing 11th grade can receive a medal not only for the above achievements, but also in the following cases:

  • in all academic subjects he will have final grades “excellent” and when passing the Unified State Exam he will score a total of at least 146 points in two compulsory subjects - Russian language and mathematics (profile level);
  • in all academic subjects he will have final grades “excellent” and when passing the Unified State Exam he will score at least 73 points in the Russian language and at least 5 points in mathematics (basic level).

Important condition: students whose violations were recorded during the Unified State Examination are not eligible for an award.

3. What preferences does the medal “For Special Achievement in Education” give?

Each university has the right to award applicants additional points to their Unified State Exam scores for certain individual achievements. In total - no more than 10. The medal “For Special Achievement in Education” is one of such achievements. Usually 2-3 points are added for it (each university has its own way).

In addition, if several people vying for the same place score the same number of points, the medalist will have an advantage.

Starting this year, universities will award additional points for applicants’ portfolios. We collected information on 40 leading universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg and discussed it with one of the authors of the reform, director of the Development Institute education HSE Irina Abankina.- First of all, why do we need a portfolio and extra points?

In order for each university to select the best applicants, take into account their talents, activity and motivation, and for the children themselves - so that they can demonstrate not only subject knowledge, but also their public face, participation, for example, in volunteer practices, social significant projects, sporting events...

- We looked at forty websites of leading universities in Moscow and St. Petersburg and found that they all evaluate all these “new” competencies differently. Let's say for successful completion According to the TRP standards, you can get up to 10 points, but for volunteering - almost nothing. How did you see the fair assessment of the portfolio?

The total portfolio score should not exceed 20 points. Still, the main capital of any applicant is the level of his preparation and passing the Unified State Exam. But additional points, according to plan, should allow admissions committees, other things being equal, select the most capable and motivated children who can successfully study according to the programs specific university. Ten points can be awarded for a certificate with honors, for victories in Olympiads, for sporting achievements, volunteering, or for passing the GTO. The essay is assessed separately. You can get a maximum of 10 points for it.

- But in fact, we found this out in private conversations; additional points will most likely be given for certificates, victory in All-Russian Olympiads(the university itself determines them) and for passing the GTO standards. As for essays, these points will be taken into account, but many still don’t know how, because there is no one to check...

This means that this year this university will limit itself to adding a point in the Russian language, and next year it will move on to a more detailed assessment of essays at a cost of one to ten

points. The same is true for the time being with the evaluation of volunteer work. I talked with many rectors, they believe that, of course, volunteer practice should be encouraged, but how to check it, based on certificates? Because if you evaluate work that is not verified, then additions and new scandals are possible. So, I think there is nothing wrong if in many universities, especially technical ones, this year the author will receive only one point for a good essay - next year the system will be more perfect, and in specialized humanitarian universities I think this year they will find who and how to check.

- But for now, anyway, for the essay- 1 point, but for the GTO you can get 10!

Do you think that the health of schoolchildren and applicants is less important for us than the ability to correctly express their thoughts? Today, only every tenth school graduate is practically healthy. And this at 16-17 years old! This is a real disaster and we must raise the level physical culture Guys. Don't they think about it? Then we will make sure that they pay attention to their health, play sports, and pass the GTO. It is clear that not all areas of the country have the opportunity to play sports, but we will correct this too..

- Most universities don't even give you a point for a gold medal. What are high school students striving for now?

In fact, it will take a long time for confidence in gold medals to be restored. It was undermined, in particular, in Moscow, because Luzhkov boasted that almost 40% of us have medals. Then, with a gold medal, you had to pass 1-2 exams, and you were at the university. That's why Golden medal remained as a sign of distinction and good relations between students and the school, but not as an advantage in admission, especially at leading universities.
